The interdisciplinary research project **Marburg Knowledge Spaces – Insights into 500 Years of University Architecture and the History of Science** is preparing Marburg's university and scientific history online on the occasion of the university's 500th anniversary, in order to make it permanently available and experienceable through a web application. To this end, spaces of knowledge transfer and discussion, the so-called "knowledge spaces," are chosen as an entry point to illustrate the development of Philipps University within the city and the changes in research and teaching. Through a web application, spaces that have disappeared or are otherwise inaccessible are meant to be made discoverable.
