Description
Which rules and institutions ensure individual freedom, promote responsible behavior and ensure long-term social stability? An event organized by the Marburg Center for Institutional Economics and Sustainability (MACIES).
Social conflicts, political instability and undesirable economic developments are often viewed in isolation in public debates. The underlying institutional and regulatory framework conditions are often lost sight of. From an institutional economics perspective, the fundamental question is which rules and institutions secure individual freedom, promote responsible behavior and ensure long-term social stability. In the MACIES Lecture 2026, Prof. Dr. Indra de Soysa will provide insights into his empirical research on economic governance, political freedoms and the conditions of social violence.
