100% Uni Marburg

100% Uni Marburg

100% Uni Marburg brings 100 members of Philipps-Universität Marburg onto a stage to make the university visible as a social body. In line with the principle of quarter parity, they represent 25,000 people from the areas of study, teaching, and administration. Through questions, votes, and personal answers, a performative self-portrait of the university emerges — an experiment about commonalities, differences, and the question of how an institution can be perceived when no one can fully grasp it in its entirety.

Helgard Haug and Daniel Wetzel studied "Applied Theatre Studies / Drama – Theatre – Media" at Justus Liebig University Giessen. Since 1995, both have worked as freelance artists in the fields of performance, radio drama, film, installation, and media. In 2002, together with Stefan Kaegi, they founded the theatre label Rimini Protokoll and have since worked under this label in various constellations.

Rimini Protokoll often develop their stage plays, interventions, scenic installations, and radio dramas together with experts who have tested their knowledge and skills beyond the theatre. They translate spaces or social orders into theatrical formats and stand for a research-based approach to exploring and shaping new presents. Recently, they have increasingly created immersive and interactive works for museums. Their work with "experts" is described in numerous academic publications worldwide as groundbreaking for new forms of documentary theatre.

Many of their works have received awards, including invitations to the Berlin Theatertreffen, the Mülheim Dramatists' Prize, the German Theatre Prize Der Faust, and the Silver Lion of the Venice Theatre Biennale.
