The interdisciplinary research project Marburg Knowledge Spaces – Insights into 500 Years of University Architecture and the History of Science is preparing Marburg's university and scientific history online on the occasion of the university's 500th anniversary, in order to make it permanently available and experienceable through a web application. To this end, spaces of knowledge transfer and discussion, the so-called "knowledge spaces," are chosen as an entry point to illustrate the development of Philipps University within the city and the changes in research and teaching. Through a web application, spaces that have disappeared or are otherwise inaccessible are meant to be made discoverable.
