Trajectories of Affective Disorders - International Congress of the SFB/TRR 393

Affective disorders (major depression and bipolar disorder) follow highly various courses, while drivers of symptom recurrence remain insufficiently understood—yet a better understanding is crucial for improving treatment. Thus, by collecting longitudinal data across two years from 1.500 participants and parallelized human and animal studies, the SFB/TRR 393 aims to characterize relapses/remissions, identify the cognitive emotional mechanisms, correlates of symptom changes, and develop new therapies. In our congress, we will present our results, share those with other leading experts in the field, and discuss the topic with the wider public.
